LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, PLACES & HOME

My Hot Chocolate Bar

Last year I saw lots of lovely pictures of people’s hot chocolate bars in their homes & so I’ve created one myself this year.

I’ve bought a small 2 tier stand from amazon to go on the side in my kitchen & some small glass mason jars from The Range.

I’ve then filled them with milk hot chocolate, white hot chocolate, mini candy canes, mini marshmallows, sprinkles, mini gingerbread men biscuits & lots of other treats to make your hot chocolate special.

I’ve decorated the stand with a few rustic Christmas decorations & fairy lights & I just want a cute little sign to go next to it now then it’s all done. I’ll post some pictures of mine when it’s complete, but these are a few ideas of where I got my inspiration one. I’m so excited for Christmas this year and I plan to have all my decorations up & my hot chocolate station ready by mid-November so we can enjoy the build up to the festive season for longer.

BEAUTY, HEALTH & STYLE

My Apple Watch

I’ve been wanting an Apple Watch for a while, especially since I’ve taken up running more. I was very lucky to receive one from Tony for my birthday and I love it!!

I’m still getting used to it and learning new things each day but the main reason I wanted it was to monitor my step count, exercise, calories and heart rate etc and I’m finding it very beneficial. Immediately I wanted to ‘up my game’ with my exercise levels and, it’s really making me more aware of my health & fitness on a day to day basis.

I also love it as you can change the strap to suit different outfits which enables you to wear it when going out or at work. I’ve ordered myself a rose gold strap and I’ll be treating myself to gold & silver ones too, to ensure I can wear it with any outfit.

RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH

Hard Rock Café

I’ve travelled the world extensively since I was 18 as a dancer and I’ve been lucky enough to eat at some stunning restaurants. Having been to many city’s I always made sure I went to the Hard Rock Café in each new city as a little tradition of mine. I’ve kept this going as I’ve got older and my kids both really enjoy going wherever we go.

It’s not gourmet food, just typical American Fayre but I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal in any I’ve been to. It’s reasonably priced and the staff are usually upbeat and friendly. There’s always a great atmosphere and it’s something I look forward to in every city we visit.

We’ve recently visited the new London Hard Rock in Piccadilly Circus and the Paris Hard Rock last week and it’s a tradition we’ll continue as long as we can & try to visit as many around the world as possible.

COCKTAIL OF THE MONTH

The French Martini

Paris is scandalously sexy, and a few sips on a French Martini is sure to get you feeling that way, too.  A sumptuous purple colour issuing from the famous Chambord, it gives a nod to its heritage—it’s Louis XIV himself who is said to be the first to have sampled the liqueur.

It’s an elegant love potion made in the City of Love itself. And well, if it was good enough for The King, surely it’s great for anyone, don’t you think?

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Chambord flavoured Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Chambord liqueur
  • 2 oz Pineapple Juice
  • Fresh Raspberries to garnish

Method:

Add Ingredients to a mixer filled with ice, shake, then strain over a Martini glass.  Garnish with raspberries to serve, et voilà!

FILM/TV SHOW OF THE MONTH

‘I’m a Celebrity’

I love it when it’s time for I’m a Celebrity to re start, not just because I enjoy the craziness of the show but, as a mum of teens, they don’t often want to watch what we watch so it’s lovely to have a programme that all 4 of us sit & watch together.
