LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, PLACES & HOME
Home Updates for Spring
Spring is my favourite of all the months as I love the feeling of new beginnings & there’s a sense of hope & happiness in the air. After a lockdown during the winter months, having lighter nights, sunny days & all the ‘Spring feels’ is just heavenly. I always love to update & dress our home according to the seasons & Spring is particularly lovely with Easter decorations & beautiful Spring flowers. Daffodils always make me happy & as soon as they are out my house is filled with these gorgeous yellow blooms. I love getting the garden ready and this year we’re awaiting delivery of our new Summerhouse which I’m really excited about. I love it when the windows & doors are open and the garden becomes an extension of the house. As always, candles play a big part in our home and I love all the fresh Spring scents that make our home inviting.
BEAUTY, HEALTH & STYLE
For the past year the most worn items of clothing from anyone’s wardrobe have been loungewear items so I’m sure I’m not the only person excited to get dressed up in some ‘real clothes’ and feel good about myself. I’m absolutely desperate for the shops to open for a spot of good old retail therapy!
I’ve ordered a few items on line to get me started including some new jeans & black trousers. Last years skinny jeans have gone & its back to boot cut which I loved the first time around. For my staple black trousers, I’ve gone for a wide leg style but not too wide as I feel they swamp me. I love dresses and in Spring & Summer I wear dresses as often as possible so I can’t wait to add some new ones to my wardrobe. Before I can go shopping I need to do a big wardrobe clear out as there’s so my items I’ve not worn in a long time & I’m not likely to wear again & I want to make room for some newer, fresher pieces.
It feels exciting to be thinking about dressing up and feeling ‘put together’ & stylish again after a year of leggings & loungewear!!!!!!!
COCKTAIL OF THE MONTH
MINI EGG MARTINI
- 25g Cadbury’s Mini Eggs (or your preferred brand of mini chocolate eggs)
- 1 tsp honey
- 25ml crème de cacao
- 25ml Baileys
- 50ml vodka
- STEP 1
Crush the Mini Eggs in a pestle and mortar then tip onto a small plate. Brush the rim of a martini glass with a little of the honey using a pastry brush then dip the glass into the crushed Mini Eggs to stick them on. Pop the glass in the fridge until you need it.
- STEP 2
Pour the crème de cacao, Baileys and vodka into a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice and shake until the outside of the shaker feels really cold. Strain into your prepared glass and serve.
FILM/TV SHOW OF THE MONTH
I adored this series when it first came out & just recently it’s come on to Disney Plus. I couldn’t resist starting it again from the beginning & I’m currently on series 7. I’m loving it just as much the second time around & I’ve also got Isabelle hooked who’s already finished all 8 seasons!!
