LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, PLACES & HOME

An Evening at Manor House with Koko beauty spa When my beauty salon, Koko Beauty Spa, teamed up with the stunning Manor House in Lindley, Huddersfield for a pre Christmas evening of drinks, hors d oeuvres, beauty treatments and discounted Elemis & Neom products I had my ticket bought in a flash. All my favourite things in one one of my favourite places in the build up to my favourite time of year sounded bliss! Tickets were £25 each which included a drink and food then a selection of treatments could be booked on the evening for the very reasonable price of £20 each. I was originally meant to be going with a friend but she was unfortunately ill on the night so my mum came along & it was nice to book her some treatments as a treat. I booked us both a shellac pedicure which we both had whilst enjoying a Prosecco and some delicious food. Manor House & Koko are both highly professional businesses which ooze class so this partnership made for a fabulous event. I couldn’t resist treating myself to some Neom candles which I adore and with 25% off all products bought on the evening it would be rude not to….. A lovely festive evening to start the pre Christmas build up, they have another planned for the summer which I will definitely be attending.

BEAUTY, HEALTH & STYLE

New Year Detox

Everyone’s allowed to indulge a little at Christmas and is certainly been no exception for me this year. However, once the decorations are down and the gloomy weather stretches ahead you’re often left with a body you’re less than happy with and feeling rather sluggish, nor to mention none of your clothes feeling good on you.I know it’s a cliche, ‘new year new me’ but I really am on a mission this year. Having always been slim, I’m not happy with my diet, fitness and body at the moment and I’m determined to make some big changes. I won’t be doing dry January as such as we have a few celebrations in January including Max’s birthday. But, I am cutting down a lot over the next few weeks and another big mission is to drink more water. I’m really looking forward to getting healthier this year and there’s no time like the present to start!

FILM OF THE MONTH

Little Women

This was the perfect film to watch in those strange days in between Christmas & New Year. With a wonderful cast, some well known and some new comers, it’s was warm, cozy and everything I wanted it to be. I loved the style of this new adaptation which was unlike any of the previous versions I’ve seen &, rather than following the story from beginning to end, it showed it through a series of flashbacks through Jo’s eyes. The visual look of the film was perfect for this era and captured the warmth of the March family & this special piece of literature beautifully.

THIS MONTH I’M LOVING

My beautiful boy Max’s 12th birthday celebrations which breaks up the gloomy month of January
