HELLO MARCH 2021

I love it when March arrives. Firstly, because the 1st March is my beautiful daughter’s birthday, she is my first born so it was the month I became a Mummy for the first time which is the best thing in my life. It’s also usually the Month that starts to feel Spring like & it symbolises new beginnings for me. Lockdown 3 in Winter has been so hard for everyone so hopefully the brighter weather & lighter evenings will lift everyone’s mood.

FABULOUS THINGS THAT HAPPENED LAST MONTH

1. Some lovely walks with family & friends

2. A week off for half term, I needed a break from teaching on Zoom

3. I completed ‘The Magic’ by Rhonda Byrne which I loved. I’m now starting ‘The Secret’

4. I gave my students some amazing West End Workshops over half term

5. Lots of home improvements making our house feel lovely

LIFESTYLE, LEISURE, PLACES & HOME

Cannon Hall Farm, Cawthorne Barnsley

With very few things to do during lockdown, going for walks has been top of everyone’s list for the past year. Unfortunately, at the moment restaurants, café’s & bars are closed so finding somewhere with a takeaway drinks & food area is a must. Nestled in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside near where I live is the wonderful Cannon Hall Farm. It’s a place I brought my children to many times as children as it has a wonderful interactive working farm open to visitors, lots of play areas, restaurants, a Garden Centre, a wonderful farm shop & acres of open space for children to play along with lots of walking routes nearby in the delightful surrounding village of Cawthorne. Obviously, the farm, restaurants & play areas are all closed to visitors but its still a lovely place to go for a country walk & grab a coffee plus the Garden Centre & Farm Shop are both still open. I’ve been quite a few times recently & had some lovely dog walks with Dora, Tony & the kids. Unfortunately, a lot of others have been getting the same idea recently, so I’ve been going mid-week mornings as weekends are getting a bit too busy whilst we’re in a pandemic. I’m looking forward to more lovely walks there as the weather starts to brighten up too.

BEAUTY, HEALTH & STYLE

Dermalogica Home Facial

My skin’s definitely been suffering from stress recently. Having to take my business back online has not been easy & I was a bit stressed in January along with being quite under the weather for a couple of weeks. I’m back to my usual positive self again now & feeling much healthier but I really noticed my skin had suffered quite a lot. It was really dry & tired looking with quite a few small breakouts which I don’t usually get. I usually take good care of my skin but I did let it slide a bit for a while so when a lovely friend bought me a Dermalogica facial in a bag to do at home I couldn’t wait to try it. Having so many free weekends at the moment I’ve really not got any excuse to not be on top of my health & beauty routine & I’m back on top of things now. I used Dermalogica quite a lot in my 30’s and it was fantastic for breakouts. I also used it for the months leading up to my wedding & my skin was in perfect condition (albeit I was 17 years younger then!!!!!)

The facial in a bag was tailor made to my skin type & comes with full instructions. It consists of a cleanser, daily microfoliant, face mask, toner, moisturising cream & eye cream and my skin felt radiant for days after.

FILM/TV PROGRAMME OF THE MONTH

It’s A Sin

Wow! Just Wow! This programme had me in bits & I think it’s such an important piece of Drama to remind people of this terrible virus and, although the progression of medication now allows people to live a long & healthier life with HIV than ever before, we must remember it’s still very much prevalent and people should still take all necessary precautions. A life not needing medication is still better than a lifetime on it.

The cast were outstanding & the entire piece was written so beautifully & sensitivity. One of the best drama’s I’ve seen in a long time.

THIS MONTH I’M LOVING

Spending much more time on self care & self improvement.

THIS MONTH I’M NOT LOVING
