MY HAPPY PLACES

  • MY HAPPY PLACES
  • Everyone needs their ‘Happy Places’, either somewhere they enjoy going to escape, a safe haven or somewhere that brings back lots of happy memories or brings them lots of joy. I have quite a few happy places and it’s such an important thing in my life to have these places that bring me peace, joy, happiness and tranquility.
  • MY HOME
  • As a lead a very busy life, whenever I get a day or evening off to spend at home I’m in heaven. The house we are in now isn’t our forever home but I still love it and it’s a nice place to be. I can’t stand mess and everything has to have a place, I can’t relax on an evening if things haven’t been put away. That said, it’s still a warm and cosy house and I adore having my lamps & candles lit and to create a welcoming ambience.
  • MY MUM & DADS HOME
  • Although this wasn’t my childhood home, my parents moved to this house when I was in my late teens and away at college so it was still the home I came back to on holidays and Tony & I also lived there for 6 months before we were married and waiting to move into our own home. It’s a warm, inviting, welcoming and happy home and we all love spending time at the house and spending time with my parents, especially in their gorgeous garden.
  • CENTER PARCS
  • This is definitely our family’s happy place. We’ve been going once a year every year since Isabelle was born and it is the best escape. As soon as we drive into the entrance I immediately relax and regular life feels a million miles away. There’s something for everyone no matter what age and my kids have experienced so many new activities over the years.
  • ST THOMAS, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
  • Pure heaven on earth! This was my home port once a week for one of the years I worked as a dancer on cruise ships. It’s the most beautiful island and I felt a total affinity there. It was also the place I could call my parents from every week so it also made me feel closer to home. It is a place I am desperate to go back to one day.
  • NEW YORK
  • This amazing city holds so many wonderful memories for me, not least it is the place Tony and I got engaged. I’ve been back many times and I was at the top of the World Trade centre a year to the day before 9/11. We went as a family for the first time since 9/11 last summer and loved it just as much. Isabelle and Max had an amazing time and can’t wait to visit again and again.
  • THE LAKE DISTRICT
  • Not far from where we live, this stunning place really is a haven and we love to visit. We’ve stayed mainly in Ambleside but like to visit Windermere too. The scenery and walks are simply stunning and we’re so lucky to have it almost on our doorstep.
  • PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
  • Tony lived in Perth for a year before we met and took me for a holiday before we were married. I fell in love with it instantly and just love everything about the scenery, beaches, lifestyle and people. 2 years ago we took Isabelle and Max for a holiday to Dubai and then on to Perth and they both fell in love with it as much as us. It’s another place we’ll go back to but we’d like to tie it in with seeing some other places in Australia too.
  • ON BOARD A CRUISE SHIP LOOKING OUT AT THE OCEAN
  • My ultimate happy place! I worked as a dancer for many years on cruise ships and I enjoyed the fun, parties, visiting different countries and experiencing new cultures but, one of the things I loved to do when I needed a little time to myself, was to take a book onto the top deck at the back of the ship and just relax, read and look out at the ocean. I find it so therapeutic and I still love to look out at the ocean whenever I get the chance.
