WEEK 8 – WHAT’S HAPPENING TO OUR WORLD? AT HOME IN ISOLATION DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS

DAY 51 – MONDAY 11TH MAY
Myself & what seems like everyone I know felt a bit flat today! I think we were expecting last nights speech to be a bit clearer and we’ve all woken up more confused than ever. I didn’t sleep well either which didn’t help, my stomachs been in knots all day and I’m not 100% sure why.
I’d booked Harrison Vaughan from ‘The Greatest Dancer’ to do an online workshop this afternoon and it was fantastic. The kids all loved it so I felt a bit more positive & upbeat afterwards.
I’m determined to wake up & put my positive pants on tomorrow & get lots of work and class planning done.
What better than an episode of ‘The Real Housewives of Cheshire’ tonight to completely switch off from reality!!

DAY 52 – TUESDAY 12TH MAY
Everyone’s emotions are so up & down right now. Yesterday I felt really flat with no motivation then today I woke up raring to go and had done all my class planning and loads of jobs done before lunch. What a strange time this is!!

DAY 53 – WEDNESDAY 13TH MAY
A long day teaching & it’s not easy on Zoom but it’s gone really well & the attendance has been amazing. I’m so proud of how all my students are coping with the situation and working so very hard. I am very worried about the mental health of children though as this is not an easy situation for them at all.

DAY 54 – THURSDAY 14TH MAY
Another day teaching and I’m blown away by my students, such hard work and commitment. A great day of Zoom classes (I’m still desperate to get back to teaching in the studio though!)
It’s so nice to see that the clap for the NHS & key workers is continuing each week. There’s not a day goes by that I don’t appreciate how amazing they all are and what an outstanding job they’re doing.
I couldn’t wait to get out for a walk with Tony & our beautiful Dora tonight. Watching the sun set over the gorgeous countryside makes me appreciate where we live every single day.
I’m now looking forward to a few days off to spend with my family and sorting the house.

DAY 55 – FRIDAY 15TH MAY
I’ve loved today! Most people hate housework but I love getting it all done on Friday ready for the weekend. We ordered a pizza takeaway for a change for tea which the kids enjoyed. It really is the little things that matter at the moment. Then after another fab quiz (if I do say so myself!!!) for my school, the 4 of us had a movie night and watched the new Lion King. Wow! What an amazing film.

DAY 56 – SATURDAY 16TH MAY
The one thing I’m enjoying is having proper weekends as I usually always work Saturdays. Today’s been quite a chilled one as it’s Isabelle’s ‘Come Dine With Me’ night so I’ve been banned from the kitchen all day as she cooked and prepares.
She did a fabulous job & I’m very proud of how capable she is at so many things. She has a lot of life skills and cooking & baking is definitely one of her forte’s.
Bless her, I feel gutted for her that at 15 she has to spend all her time with us and not see her friends but she’s coped with it amazingly well.
There’s talk of her year, Year 10, going back to school for 1 day per week and I’m completely torn as to what to do. On one hand I don’t want her missing the work as she has her GCSE’S next year but I’m very worried it’s still not safe.

DAY 57 – SUNDAY 17TH MAY
I popped round to my Mum & Dads to drop a few things off for them & it was lovely to see them, socially distanced, in the flesh! They looked really well and they’ve been good at keeping themselves very busy but I know they’re desperate for a change of scenery now & to go out but we’ve all got to sit tight a bit longer. They’re very lucky to have a lovely & large garden which they’ve made the most of whilst they’ve been at home.
I enjoy Sunday evenings as we do a weekly quiz with close friends then I relaxed watching ‘Killing Eve’ whilst knitting which I’ve just taken up. I’m really enjoying having the chance to do a few new things which I’m normally far too busy to even think about.
It’s been a really lovely weekend and I’m feeling so much more positive now. Things are slowly starting to ease a little bit which makes things slightly easier!
So another week in Lockdown over & it’s been quite a positive one.
